Located midway between Leeds and Harrogate in the charming village of Shadwell, Leeds Golf Centre is one of  The North’s premier golf complexes. Following acquisition by Parklane Properties in February 2011, a multimillion pound investment programme has totally transformed the standard, appearance and fortunes of the facility – to the extent that it now sits proudly alongside such illustrious names as nearby Moortown and Alwoodley in this prime swathe of Yorkshire’s golfing folklore. Offering club subscriptions and ‘pay and play’ access in equal measures, visitors and new members are greeted warmly regardless of their experience or ability.

Wike Ridge Championship Golf Course

The Wike Ridge Championship Golf Course, originally designed by esteemed UK architect, Donald Steel, is very much the jewel in the crown following a significant facelift at the start of 2012. Having created several new water features, additional bunkering, new tees and greens and greater definition through extensive tree transplantation, the project team have vastly improved the playability and overall flow of what is now a complete and engaging test of golf.

The Oaks Golf Course

Leeds Golf Centre’s unique 12-hole par-3 course – The Oaks – is prepared and maintained to the same exacting standard as its better-known sibling. Promising year-round play andan unrivalled level of accessibility to beginners, juniors, casual golfers and more experienced players, the course is a tremendous asset and certainly not to be underestimated.

Nineteen Bar & Grill

The latest addition to Leeds Golf Centre’s magnificent portfolio of amenities is its new bar and restaurant, Nineteen Bar & Grill. Opening for business on Valentine’s Day 2012, this stunning venue provides golfers and local residents alike with a superb destination dining experience complete with a vibrant atmosphere day or night. 

What makes the facility so special is its flexibility. An inviting lounge area features a fireplace and snug leather seating – perfect for morning coffee or afternoon tea – with two further zones designed for bistro-style ‘formal’ dining and a players’ lounge for those seeking light refreshments either pre or post round. Sharing the wider Leeds Golf Centre philosophy, Nineteen Bar & Grill guarantees a warm welcome and excellent service as standard.

Golf Lessons & Tuition

Leeds Golf Centre is extremely proud of its market-leading Academy and associated practice facilities which include a 16-bay floodlit covered driving range and outdoor putting and chipping greens. 

A carefully selected mix of PGA-qualified professionals provide group lessons and private tuition to players of all ages in an environment that’s as appropriate for absolute beginners as it is for European Tour stars. With a variety of excellent value packages and promotions complementing the Academy’s considerable knowledge base, patrons frequently gain an unrivalled insight into golf’s many quirks and virtues – yet it is their improving technique and thus unadulterated enjoyment of the game that keeps customers coming back for more.

Flightscope swing studios

There can be no more fitting endorsement for Leeds Golf Centre’s vision as ‘The Home of Modern Golf’ than its highlysophisticated indoor swing studios. 

Already fundamental to the Academy’s overall proposition, technology from FlightScope, V1 Video and SAM Putt & Balance Lab puts incredible tools in the hands of PGA professionals to facilitate a more detailed understanding of technique. Similarly, the systems can be used to custom-fit golf clubs (suiting the infinite number of swing speed/swing style combinations typified throughout the game) or to power the incredible TruSim simulator (where players can enjoy a digital interpretation of 64 courses from around the world).
