It gives the Leeds Golf Centre team great pleasure to announce that next year’s Club Captain, Martin Ward, has revealed that long-standing member, Jim Morris, will be Vice Captain and Club Captain elect in 2013/14.
Hailing from the North East, Jim’s finest golfing moment to date was a hole-in-one on the 7th in the annual Captain’s Day competition some years ago. Having played off a very low handicap in the past, Jim is now described as ‘a bit of a bandit’ having recently retired to enjoy more time with his grandchildren and wife, Jen.
Commenting on Jim’s acceptance, Martin said: “I am delighted that Jim has agreed to the role, one which remains essentially the highest honour the ‘average’ club golfer can receive; never more so than here at Leeds Golf Centre where we prepare excitedly for the first full season following the impressive redevelopment. Not only has Jim been a member of the club for a long time, his retirement also means he has the time to spend supporting me and all the members of the club.”
“Jim also brings some excellent management experience to the committee as a former Managing Director of Initial Services – furthermore, I also look forward to future match reports as Jim applies his skills as an author to life at the club!”
