Maintaining a busy golf course is good hard work at the best of times, with the recent weather our fine team of greenkeepers have been working like real troopers. If you should see them whilst playing, they always appreciate a word of encouragement. Here’s how they’ll be helping your golf experience at Leeds Golf Centre be the best it possibly can:
“Last week’s wet weather has delayed us slightly on completing the work of building the new drains on the 12th and 18th holes. The 12th green should benefit greatly from this as the drain now runs around the back into the ditch which has a much great fall. The new drain at the side of the 18th water feature should help prevent any standing water in the future.
From Wednesday 28th November the greens will all be air injected and then the resulting holes will be filled with sand. This process will take about two days to complete, so could I ask all members and visitors for their understand, cooperation and patience as this is a key part of our continuing aeration program and will benefit the greens and therefore you as well for the 2013 season and beyond.
Other regular & additional work that we will be doing this week is:
- Repair pitch marks on greens
- De-plug the range
- Level and treat mole hills
- Repair divots on lawns & tees
- Order rock salt
- Finish clearing drains on 12th & 18th
- Commence shockwave treatment to fairways”
