Open Competitions Announced
March sees the opening of our wonderful new Wike Ridge layout – a far more challenging and enjoyable test of golf than its predecessor – so what better way to find out what all the fuss is about than entering one of our open events!
Just four dates have been announced this far, with more events due to be added to the calendar in the coming months. First up on Sunday 28th April is a nett event for men, an individual medal costing just £15 per person. Just six weeks later on Sunday 9th June, the Wike Ridge Classic will welcome some of the region’s best club golfers to do battle in a 36 hole scratch medal (maximum handicap is 9, entries are just £20 per person).
If individual competitions are not your thing, we are also holding betterball Stableford events for both men and ladies – taking place on Tuesday 2nd July (ladies – entries are £28 per pair including coffee and biscuits on arrival) and Thursday 25th July (men – entries are £30 per pair) respectively.
All of the mens’ open competitions will be played from the new Wike Ridge ‘indigo’ championship tees – watch out for more news on this in the coming weeks and months. To obtain an entry form, simply click here, call 0113 288 6000 or email opendays@leedsgolfcentre.com.
Joe Feather Takes On Asia!
Some of you may not be aware that Leeds Golf Centre has its very own aspiring tour pro – Joe Feather – who flew out to Asia at the start of the New Year to do battle on the Asian tour. After months of dedicated practice and training during 2012’s close season, Joe has a challenging season ahead – his aspiration to ‘make the grade’ will not be easy but many will no doubt wish to join us in wishing him the very best of luck.
The best way to stay up to date with Joe’s progress is via his Twitter feed. Joe will be posting his scores and giving regular updates on his relative performance – similarly, we will report on any significant news via this monthly email newsletter.
