Wike Ridge Championship Golf Course
Our 18-hole Wike Ridge layout opened for play in 1993, being designed by former English Golf Union president and renowned golf course architect, Donald Steel. However, the start of this year witnessed the beginning of a major programme of improvements and an undertaking to transform it into Leeds’ very best modern golf course. The proposals, drawn up in conjunction with Jonathan Gaunt of Gaunt Golf Design, take the course’s strongest attributes and add real ‘wow’ factor – the new iteration being a more memorable, more complete golf experience. With dramatic new water features, more definition (courtesy of heavily revised bunkering and 1000 transplanted trees), improved flow of play and greater safety measures all adding to the appeal, a bright future awaits the new Wike Ridge championship course when it opens in late 2012.
